Miss Wiersma
I am the new first/second grade teacher and I am so happy to be here! I just started this year and I just moved to Seattle at the end of the month of August. I taught Kindergarten last year in the Coeur d’ Alene school district and I graduated from the University of Idaho. Go vandals! I have always worked with children but what really brought me into education was when my family had foster kids. I realized how much I liked helping kids learn. In my free time I love to run, read, and write. I also love to paint…or at least try. I love getting to know the kids. I think relationship building is really important and it is fun to learn about each student and figure out how I can best help them. My goal is to build a community in my classroom where all students feel welcomed and appreciated. I want my class to be a safe place and my students to know that they are loved by their classmates, their teacher, and God.
